TH604 Anti-Slip / Anti-Corrosion Thermal Spray

SafTrax brand name encompasses a couple of different thermal spray non-skid products.  These products are our TH604, TH605, and TH335. With the most common of these being the TH604 and TH605 non-skid. 

TH604 is a tubular or cored aluminum wire filled with up to 46% powders consisting of aluminum oxide (Al2O3). The aluminum serves as a binder for the hard ceramic and provides the corrosion protection to the underlying article while the ceramic oxide provides wear resistance adding long life to the coating. This particular product has a wide range of textures it can be applied at from slightly aggressive to very aggressive.

TH605 are tubular or cored wires filled with up to 46% powders consisting of silicon carbide (SiC). The aluminum tube or sleeve serves as a binder for the hard silicone carbide and provides the corrosion protection to the underlying article while the silicon carbide material provides for wear resistance and adds long life to the anti-skid spray.

The makeup of the material for this anti-slip coating does not lend itself to much variance in its texture, meaning it can be applied really aggressive or aggressive.

Our TH335 is also a tubular or cored wire, however, the tube is comprised of iron. It is packed with aluminum and carbon powders to produce a hard nonskid that is wear resistant. Because the material has an iron base by itself it does not offer any corrosion protect so it would need a post-treatment of galvanizing to protect it. 

Twin wire arc spray process is used to apply these materials and form an anti-slip coating, this process is simple, easy to learn, highly productive, and economical to operate. The process can be controlled to produce coatings with a surface profiled of different degree of roughness from slight to a very aggressive rough surface.  Aluminum spray wires are known to provide long-term corrosion protection to steel and our TH604 and TH605’s aluminum base duplicates the long-term protection plus offer the benefits of high wear properties. These coating systems are especially beneficial for use on steel and aluminum, however, it can be applied to other metals and materials, including concrete and plastics.
